Jacob Melinger and Alan Paukman, long-time friends and collaborators, formed Nikolai Rose as a collective identity. Drawing inspiration from their New York City upbringings as well as the aesthetics and lifestyle of fashion's past, they attempt to reinstate the notion of “dressing up to dress down” while looking towards the future.
